On the road again...

Unlike Willie Nelson, the Defenders can't wait to get on the road again. That is where the team finds itself today as it starts a nine-game trip.

The Defenders do, however, find themselves leaving home on a high note. Putting together a late-inning rally, the Defenders batters came through for starter Chris Begg.

Begg, who had another great start, may be getting a call up to Triple-A before the ends of the season.

Has anyone ever contacted the league office to find out who the genius is that puts the schedule together? down too Bowie, up to Bingo, back down to Altoona, and then home to play the next evening. And they still have a trip to Erie left. Welcome to minor league baseball.

The league schedulers have never been known to care whether their schedules are problematic for teams. They figure if teams can get from Point A to Point B in time to play the next day, then the schedule works.

Erie and Altonna should always be part of the same road trip, as should Harrisburg.
