Thoughts

I've gotten a few votes on the poll to the right, now let's hear what you guys thought beyond one word votes.

I thought it was a success. The front office FILLED the place (but you know if it hadn't I think that may have been the lead story).
Sure, Mother Nature got involved, but people still got to enjoy the display booths outside Dodd, get autos (and let's face it that line could have lasted hours) but the front office did set up a temp. location to get the HR deby going) and see, sorta of, the HR derby.
The game got called after 2.5 innings but after being at the park for 4+ hours I got my money's worth and then some.
A bunch of players hung out and signed after the game as well. And all the mascots were around getting their pictures taken with kids and signing also.
Still 6500+ got out to the ball park and those folks can exchange those stubs for two other '07 games.

I voted great because the park was filled and alive. The people I met (old friends and new) all said they were enjoying themselves and were generally pleased with the days organization. Concessions were busy, but the lines moved.

It was fun watching batting practice and the HR hitting contest. Too bad the Defs won't/can't open early occasionally so fans could enjoy BP.

My only criticism about the evening is you, the media. Would it have hurt to pass on kudos to the ticket buying public who came to the game and the Def staff who worked so damn hard to fill the place up? We're all guilty of bemoaning poor attendance, so what's the harm in acknowledging a positive turnout?

If you read Thursday's Norwich Bulletin, you would have seen at least two articles on the game's attendance.

I forgot about Marc's srticle, but unless I missed a prompt, the articles by you and Erica were not on the Web Site. Probably my lack of "computereez" showing again or I plain missed them.

Anyhow, I found them. Good job by you and Erica and it was nice to read some positive quotes from Lou.

Maybe I should consider subscribing to the Bulletin during the baseball season!

Mine was in the "local news" section.

I wish (1) more fans would reply to the poll and (2) if they were disappointed, make a post and explain why.
